Air Fryer Roasted Potatoes are perfectly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Making potatoes in the Air Fryer saves time and calories!

Roasted Potatoes on a serving platter

This is one of our favorite Air Fryer Recipes of all time! Roasted potatoes make a perfect side dish for so many meals and are ready in less than 15 minutes.

I prefer to make them in the Air Fryer because it’s so much faster than making them in the oven and the potatoes are crispy all around! They get extra crispy and stay perfectly soft and fluffy, almost creamy on the inside – just how my family loves them!

How to make Air Fryer Potatoes

How to Make Roasted Potatoes in the Air Fryer

This recipe is so simple and quick to make! It’s my go-to side dish for weeknights when time is short, and it can be made even faster if you use baby potatoes that are already washed, don’t need to be peeled, and can just quickly be cut in half.

  1. Cut the potatoes in half, quarters, or bite-sized chunks depending on the size of the potatoes.
  2. Spray with oil and toss with seasonings until evenly coated.
  3. Transfer to Air Fryer and bake until golden brown.

Tips and Tricks for this recipe

  • This recipe works best with new or baby potatoes. They don’t need to be peeled and can just be cut in half or quartered depending on size.
  • You can also use regular potatoes (peeled or unpeeled) and cut them into 1-inch chunks. If time allows, soak them in cold water for 30-60 minutes for crispier and fluffier potatoes.
  • I recommend using garlic powder instead of fresh minced garlic because the fresh garlic tends to burn at high temperatures.
  • If you don’t like garlic, you can leave it out – check out the other seasoning options below
  • Oil spray coats potatoes evenly without needing a large amount of oil. I use light olive oil spray because it has a higher smoke point than extra virgin olive oil, but avocado oil spray works too.
  • Toss the potatoes with the seasonings in the Air Fryer basket to save dishes.
  • I don’t recommend cooking more than 1.5 pounds at the same time.
  • Depending on the Air Fryer model you use, cooking time might be shorter or longer.
  • Serve garnished with parsley and lemon slices on the side.

Seasoning Ideas for Potatoes

Tip: Always make sure dried (and fresh) herbs are covered with enough oil; otherwise, they might burn during cooking.

  • Add 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Add 1/2 tsp dried thyme and 1/2 tsp dried oregano
  • Add 1 tsp Cajun seasoning (or make your own)
  • Add 1/2 tsp paprika
  • Fresh chopped herbs like rosemary, parsley, or thyme

Use any combination of herbs you’d like. We love to top the potatoes with fresh herbs and freshly grated parmesan before serving!
