Air Fryer Chickpeas

Our Air Fryer Chickpeas are SO crispy and done in less than 15 minutes! Faster and easier than in the oven, this air-fried snack is always a hit.

Equipment

Ingredients

  • 15 ounce can chickpeas rinsed and well-drained
  • 1 Tbsp olive oil or avocado oil

Spices:

  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp paprika powder
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne powder optional

Instructions

  • Preheat air fryer to 390 F.
  • Use paper towels to pat dry the chickpeas.
  • Toss chickpeas with oil and spices until evenly coated.
  • Transfer chickpeas to the air fryer basket. Cook for 12-14 minutes, shaking the basket a couple of times during cooking. The chickpeas are done when they are crispy. Depending on your Air Fryer this might take longer.
  • Take them out and adjust seasoning. They taste best fresh.

Notes

  • Use canned chickpeas and rinse them well in a colander
  • If you're using a 19 oz can of chickpeas add 1 tsp more oil.
  • Patting the chickpeas with paper towels makes them crisp up more and helps the seasoning and oil to stick better
  • Use my favorite spice mixture or try one of my other seasoning suggestions (see above)
  • You can always adjust the amount of seasoning you use
  • Make sure the chickpeas are evenly coated with oil this prevents the spices from burning during the cooking process
  • It's normal if you hear a popping sound during cooking
  • Keep in mind that every Air Fryer cooks a bit differently, some are faster, some run hotter. Keep an eye on the chickpeas and take them out sooner or add a minute or two depending on how crispy you want them
