Frozen Egg Rolls made in the Air Fryer are always a hit in our house! They come out perfectly crispy and make a great snack or quick lunch.
Frozen egg rolls are made for the Air Fryer! They come out perfectly cooked – crispy on the outside and delicious on the inside.
My family loves egg rolls but let’s be honest making them from scratch takes so much time and often you just crave a quick snack. So instead of ordering takeout give this Air Fryer recipe a try. So much faster and they taste as delicious as from your favorite Chinese place!
Buying frozen rolls instead of making them from scratch or ordering takeout saves time and means you always have a quick snack on hand that the whole family will enjoy.
Why you have to try this recipe
- Faster than takeout or making from scratch
- Perfectly crispy from all sides
- No mess compared to deep-frying
Expert Tips
- Depending on the brand all frozen egg rolls vary in size, thickness, and filling. I prefer the Minh Pork Egg Rolls from Costco which come in an 8 pack. Smaller egg rolls will take less time to cook.
- You don’t need to spray the basket or the egg rolls with oil.
- Don’t overcrowd the Air Fryer basket to ensure even cooking! I recommend putting them in a single layer with room between the rolls so the air can circulate.
- For even cooking shake the basket or turn the egg rolls once or twice during cooking.
- All Air Fryers are different so timings can be different. Always keep an eye on your food and check often the first time you’re making a new recipe.
- This recipe was tested in a Philipps Air Fryer and a Ninja Foodie.
Recipe FAQs
No, you should not thaw egg rolls before Air Frying them. You can cook them straight from the freezer.
Depending on the size of the egg rolls you cook them between 13 and 15 minutes. Larger egg rolls will take longer.
In my opinion the Air Fryer works best, the get crispy from all sides and are done in minutes! Cooking them in the oven takes a lot longer because the oven takes longer to preheat and they don’t crisp up from all sides. Deep frying is messy and adds a lot of extra oil. Using the microwave makes them less crispy and they cook unevenly.
What to serve with Egg Rolls
Serve these egg rolls with your favorite dipping sauce. Here are a few of my favorites:
- Sweet and Sour Sauce
- Vietnamese Fish Sauce from Hungry Huy
- Gyoza Dipping Sauce from Trader Joe’s
