Peach crisp and ice cream on a plate

Fresh ripe peaches are the star of this easy Air Fryer dessert! A layer of sweet peaches that cook up and caramelize, topped with a crunchy oat streusel topping – so unbelievably tasty.

The Air Fryer is perfect for making this easy summer dessert. No need to turn on the oven, the Air Fryer heats up faster and does the job in less time. It also crisps up the topping perfectly and makes it extra tasty.

Ingredient Notes

Here is an overview of the ingredients you’ll need for this recipe. Scroll down to the recipe card at the bottom for quantities.

Ingredients needed for Air Fryer Peach Crisp
  • Peaches – This recipe works best with fresh peaches. Choose ripe but firm peaches for the best results. Super-ripe or very juicy peaches produce more liquid and can make the crisp too liquid. You can also use canned or frozen peaches if peaches are not in season (see tips below).
  • Oats – You can use quick oats or old-fashioned rolled oats. Quick oats make the topping more tender, rolled oats make it hearty and crisper.
  • Almonds – The almonds add flavor and crunch. You could also use pecans, walnuts, or leave out the nuts completely.
  • Sugar – This recipe uses brown sugar and white sugar. If your peaches are very sweet you can reduce the sugar in the filling but I don’t recommend reducing the amount in the topping.
  • Cornstarch – The cornstarch thickens the liquid the peaches release during cooking. Depending on the juiciness of the fruit you might need to add a bit more but don’t add too much otherwise the crisp will have a weird texture.

Expert Tips

  • If you want you can peel the peaches, some people don’t like the texture of the peel. Check out my Peach Cobbler recipe for the easiest way to peel peaches
  • You can use quick oats or old-fashioned rolled oats. Quick oats cook faster and add a more delicate texture. If you want a heartier texture, use old-fashioned oats
  • For the best taste and texture use ripe peaches for this recipe. They are sweeter and easier to slice
  • If your peaches are super-ripe or very juicy increase the amount of corn starch by 1 or 2 Tablespoons
  • Don’t forget to grease your baking dish with oil or butter
  • Preheat your Air Fryer for a few minutes so the crisp cooks evenly
  • Choose a baking dish depending on the size of your Air Fryer basket, you want the air to be able to circulate around the dish. If you have a smaller Air Fryer you might have to cook the recipe in batches or half the recipe
  • To make this recipe gluten-free use gluten-free 1 to 1 all-purpose flour and make sure that the oats are certified gluten-free

Recipe FAQs

What is the difference between a crisp, a cobbler, and a crumble?

Crisps, Cobblers, and crumbles are all baked desserts of fresh fruit topped with some kind of pastry. Cobblers have a biscuit topping. Crumbles and crisps are very similar, both have a streusel topping but the topping of a crisp is usually made with oats.

Can I make peach crisp with canned peaches?

Yes, you can use canned peaches. Drain the peaches well before using them in the recipe. If they were canned in sweet syrup I recommend using less sugar.

Can I use different fruit in this recipe?

Yes, you can but keep in mind that all fruits have a different level of sweetness and release more or less juice so you may need to adjust the sugar and cornstarch amounts.

Can you use frozen peaches instead of fresh ones?

Yes, you can use frozen peaches. Thaw and drain them before incorporating them into the recipe.

What to serve with a Peach Crisp

Whipped cream or vanilla ice cream pairs perfectly with crisps, cobblers, and crumbles. The warm juicy fruit, crunchy streusel, and cold ice cream are the perfect combo. So DELICIOUS!

Leftovers

Leftovers keep up to 4 days in an airtight container stored in the fridge. To reheat and crisp up the topping air fry for 5-10 minutes on 350 F.

Freezing

You can either freeze this Air Fryer Peach Crisp baked or unbaked.

To freeze the baked crisp, let it cool to room temperature then cover it tightly with plastic wrap or use a freezer-friendly container with a lid. Freeze for up to 3 months. To thaw, let it sit at room temperature until defrosted then reheat in your air fryer for 5-10 minutes until crispy.

To freeze the unbaked crisp, you can freeze it fully assembled or freeze the topping and the filling separately. When ready to eat, put it frozen in your air fryer, cover the top with aluminum foil, and air fry at 300 F for around 20 minutes then increase the temperature to 350 F and bake for 10-20 minutes longer until crispy.

  1. 5 stars
This came out wonderfully in my basket air fryer using a small 6.5×8.5 pyrex casserole dish! The only adjustments I made were using almond extract (instead of vanilla) and chopped pecans (instead of walnuts or almonds). I did mix the pecans into the topping and stirred the topping halfway through (which I think helped prevent the pecans from burning). Super delicious and easy! I will definitely make this again. Awesome recipe!

  2. I added walnuts and they started to burn 10 minutes in. I think if you wait until the last few minutes to add the nuts, the results will be great. I used my 7” cheesecake pan and it fit my fryer perfectly. Great recipe.
