The best Air Fryer Appetizers – crispy chicken wings, jalapeño poppers, spring rolls, and more. If you’re looking for some tasty snacks for game day or any party, check out this list.

Different air fryer appetizer.

If you’ve got an air fryer and people coming over, you’re already winning. The air fryer is basically made for appetizers. Things come out crispy without a pot of hot oil, they cook fast, and you can do multiple batches while everything stays warm in the oven.

No sweating over a deep fryer, no greasy stovetop cleanup. Just good food, faster. I’ve been making air fryer recipes for years, and these are the ones I actually make when guests are coming over.

Every single recipe has been tested in my kitchen, photographed, and eaten more times than I’ll admit. No filler recipes here; if it made this list, it’s because it’s genuinely good.

Whether you’re hosting game day, a birthday party, or just doing a Friday night snack spread, you’ll find something here.

Tips for Making Air Fryer Appetizers

  • Don’t overcrowd the basket. This is the number one mistake. Air fryers work by circulating hot air around the food. If you pack it in, you get steaming, not crisping. Cook in batches if you have to. It’s worth it.
  • Preheat your air fryer. Most recipes work better with a preheated basket. Two to three minutes at the target temperature is enough. It makes a real difference on anything breaded.
  • Flip halfway through. For even browning, flip or shake the basket at the halfway mark. Anything coated in breadcrumbs especially needs this.
  • A light spray of oil goes a long way. You don’t need much, just a quick spritz on the food before it goes in. This is what gives you that golden, crispy finish instead of a pale, sad crust.
  • Keep batches warm in the oven. Set your oven to 200°F and use it as a holding station while you work through batches. Everything stays crispy and hot without overcooking.

Meat-Based Air Fryer Appetizer

Chicken wings, meatballs, and chicken tenders: this is where the air fryer really earns its place on your counter. Meat-based appetizers need high heat and good airflow to get that crispy outside without drying out the inside, and the air fryer nails it every time. These are the recipes I pull out when I need something that actually fills people up, not just tides them over.

Vegetarian Air Fryer Appetizer

Don’t let anyone tell you vegetarian appetizers are the boring option. Onion rings with a shattery crust, jalapeño poppers loaded with cream cheese, a blooming onion that looks like you worked way harder than you did. None of that needs meat to be the best thing on the table. These are crowd-pleasers whether you’re cooking for vegetarians or just want something lighter alongside the main spread.

Serve them with

The right dipping sauce can make or break an appetizer spread. Here are some of my favorites that pair well with the recipes in this roundup. All made from scratch and way better than anything from a bottle.

  • Aioli Sauce – works with basically everything: fries, chicken tenders, onion rings, breaded fish. If you make one sauce, make this.
  • Tartar Sauce – the obvious match for fried pickles and breaded fish, but also surprisingly good with fries.
  • Authentic Tzatziki Sauce – refreshing Mediterranean dip that tastes great alongside meatballs or chicken tenders.
